Rules for Admission

1. CRITERIA

(a) Physical age group of 5 to 18 years at the time of admission. Above 18 Yrs sanction is required from Head of the Mgt Committee.
(b) Authorised Medical Certificate issued by medical practitioner with min MBBS qualified is reqd at the time of admission.
(c) The students should be toilet trained and be capable of movements with minimal assistance or no assistance from an attendant. Children who are unable to sit or are psychiatric or who need a constant attendant may be admitted to Asha Schools on a condition that mothers/attendants would bring the child for shorter duration (1-2 hours) and give exercises to their own child as guided by the physiotherapist. Also children who are not toilet trained can be given provisional admission for some stipulated period in which either mother or some attendant can keep coming to the school with the child.
(d) The children must undergo medical examination by a specialist in the specific disability within one month of admission, to remain eligible for admission.
(e) Children of serving Army personnel will be given preference for admission over those of other service personnel, ex-servicemen and civilians.
(f) The children of army pers and civilians will be admitted to Asha School in a ratio of 65:35 respectively. This fig is open to review as and when necessary, if the same is felt.
(g) Parents of children who have shown exceptional improvement may be asked by school auth to withdraw their children keeping in view the total capability of school and the backlog / waiting list for admissions if any.
(h) Long absent students i.e 3 months or more without any info to be struck from school roster under intimation to parents/unit with prior permission of the School Committee.

2.PRIORITY

(a) Children of Army personnel stationed at Jodhpur.
(b) Children of Air Force/Navy personnel stationed at Jodhpur.
(c) Children of above categories posted outside Jodhpur.
(d) Children of retired service personnel.
(e) Children of civilians paid from the Defence Estimates.
(f) Others.

3. DISABILITIES

Children with the following types of disabilities may be considered for admission:
Mental Retardation.
Cerebral Palsy.
Speech and Language problems.
Hearing Impairment.
Learning Disabilities.
Any other exceptional cases with the permission of the chairperson.
